The aim of the research of the pharmaceutical technology unit is to develop new delivery systems of drugs, peptides, nucleic acids and antigens.

The following areas have been developed :

• Transdermal drug delivery by iontophoresis and electroporation

• Polymeric drug carriers

• Pulmonary delivery of peptides, proteins and vaccines

• Sustained-drug release systems based on biodegradable polymers for the treatment of bone infections and for the mucosal administration of vaccines against parasitic and infectious diseases
